Students look at the formation of British culture and how collective and individual identifies are created by society such as social class, gender, ethnicity and sexuality. They will examine the role and function of the education system and experience, and the research methods Sociologists use to study it.
At A2 level students will be investigating the impact and significance of the mass media on society and individual groups. Unit 4 concentrates on researching and applying different sociological theories about various types, and the effects of crime and deviant acts in society.
